By introducing auto stop-start technology to 2017 Ford F-150 models, Ford automaker will be saving its drivers money while also protecting the environment. Auto stop-start has been used successfully in a number of other vehicles, but now drivers will be able to enjoy that same exciting innovation in their F-150 3.5 liter EcoBoost models. The auto stop-start saves fuel by automatically turning off the engine whenever the vehicle is in idle, making sure that drivers don’t accidentally or unnecessarily use fuel when they don’t need to. Additionally, the auto stop-start has the benefit of saving tailpipe emissions, thereby protecting the environment. Prefer the Raptor version to the EcoBoost model? You’re in luck. Ford automaker will also be introducing this fuel and environment saving technology to F-150 Raptor models as well.
Of course, drivers may be concerned that the auto stop-start will be applied in situations where it may be unhelpful. Luckily, the auto stop-start will be disabled when four wheel drive or towing is engaged, which ensures that the new feature is nothing but helpful.
